1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using GitFuze ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

GitFuze is a GitHub Application that provides LLM-powered insights into repository activity across your organizations. The Service:

  • Analyzes git commit history over configurable time horizons
  • Provides intelligent summaries of repository activity
  • Uses Claude (Anthropic's AI) to generate insights
  • Requires GitHub App installation and OAuth authorization

3. GitHub Integration

3.1 Required Permissions

To function, GitFuze requires:

  • Access to repository metadata and commit history
  • Webhook subscriptions for repository events
  • OAuth permissions to access your GitHub account

3.2 GitHub Terms

You must comply with GitHub's Terms of Service when using GitFuze. Any violation of GitHub's terms may result in termination of your GitFuze access.

4. Data Usage

4.1 Repository Data

GitFuze:

  • Clones subscribed repositories locally (bare clones)
  • Analyzes git commit history and metadata
  • Sends repository data to Claude API for analysis
  • Caches analysis results locally

4.2 Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Ensuring you have rights to analyze repositories you subscribe to
  • Compliance with your organization's policies
  • Protecting sensitive information in repositories
  • Understanding that code will be sent to Anthropic's Claude API

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your account
  • Use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer or compromise the Service
  • Not use the Service for malicious purposes

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

You retain all rights to your repository data. By using the Service, you grant GitFuze permission to:

  • Access and analyze your repository data
  • Generate insights and summaries
  • Cache analysis results

6.2 GitFuze Service

GitFuze and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by the service provider and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. Third-Party Services

GitFuze integrates with:

  • GitHub: For repository access and authentication
  • Anthropic Claude API: For LLM-powered analysis

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 Service Provided "As Is"

GitFuze is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

8.2 No Liability for Damages

In no event shall GitFuze be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses.

8.3 Maximum Liability

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months prior to the claim.

9. Service Availability

9.1 No Guarantee of Uptime

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service.

9.2 Maintenance

We may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance that temporarily interrupts service.

10. Account Termination

10.1 Your Right to Terminate

You may terminate your account at any time by:

  • Uninstalling the GitFuze GitHub App
  • Revoking OAuth access
  • Contacting us to delete your account

10.2 Our Right to Terminate

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that:

  • Violate these Terms of Service
  • Engage in abusive behavior
  • Pose security risks
  • Violate applicable laws

10.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your access to the Service will cease
  • Repository clones will be deleted
  • User data will be removed per our Privacy Policy
  • Analysis results and chat history will be deleted

11. Changes to Terms

11.1 Modification Rights

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time.

11.2 Notification

When we make changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last Updated" date
  • Increment the version number
  • Require re-acceptance for continued use

11.3 Continued Use

Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Dispute Resolution

12.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us to attempt informal resolution.

12.2 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13. General Provisions

13.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and GitFuze regarding the Service.

13.2 Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

13.3 No Waiver

Failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
